Surpanakha is a crucial character in Valmiki’s epic, the Ramayana, and is the sister of Ravana, King of Lanka. She met the Prince Rama of Ayodhya, during her visit to the Forest of Panchavati, and was immediately infatuated by his youthful good looks.
